How this calculator works
Use the explanation to understand the formula, assumptions, and practical limits behind the calculator result.
What the converter estimates
Shoe sizing systems are not direct translations of one another, so this calculator uses a practical conversion model to estimate equivalent US, UK, EU, and centimeter sizes for men and women. The tool normalizes the entered value to a US women's base, then derives the other displayed systems from that reference.
Why the result is only a starting point
Footwear fit depends on more than length. Last shape, width, toe box, socks, and brand-specific grading can change the right choice even when the nominal size matches. European sizing is also rounded in the output, which can hide half-step differences that exist in other systems.
Use the result to narrow the likely size, then confirm against the exact brand chart and, when possible, the measured foot length. For online purchases, the centimeter value is often the most useful cross-check because it is closer to the underlying foot-length idea than a label alone.
Frequently asked questions
Why are men's and women's US sizes different?
US men's and women's labels use different starting points. This calculator models the common offset so the same foot length can display different US numbers.
Is the converted size guaranteed to fit?
No. It is an estimate. Brand lasts, width, and shoe style can shift the best real-world size.
Why is EU size rounded?
The implemented converter returns whole EU sizes, while other systems may show half sizes. That makes the output useful for comparison but not a substitute for a brand chart.
What should I check before buying online?
Compare the centimeter value with the brand's own size chart, check width guidance, and read whether the specific shoe runs small, true to size, or large.
